AutoSys integrated with Kubernetes

Hi, we have a lot of AutoSys batch jobs calling exe binaries.  Now we plan to dockerize the binaries by k8s. The basic idea is to replace the command in AutoSys job with kubectrl apply command to start a container job within K8s. The problem is how AutoSys can obtain the final status of the k8s job. we also have jobs depending on status of other jobs. Is there some good way to achieve this ? Thanks.

That would be a discussion with docker and that command. To see if there's a way to wrap it and then poll for return.

This has NOTHING to do with AutoSys and everything to do with programming.

There are different ways of approaching this.  One would be to work with the container manager to make the request and as Steve says, poll for the results.

As Mike mentioned, we have worked with numerous AutoSys customers to help automate the Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, etc. applications by leveraging a small Java (POJO) program. Although not currently built into to product as a native job type, the program is easy to use and gets the job done. You're welcome to reach out me and we can demonstrate the integration.
