We have recently upgraded our product with R12 and using agent inventory feature to upgraded Linux agent from WCC.

Binaries which are available to be downloaded are ISO package of windows, Solaries, Linux etc which is failing in staging phase with error "staging time out"

I suspect that we need to have individual platform ISO to get this working.....

Can someone share some information ... why this issue is persisting and what can be possible fix.

It depends on what you select on "Upload Installer" screen,  Autosys or Agent. Agent selection gives you option to choose multiple OS from the ISO image, where as Autosys ISO is OS specific.

Assuming agent is online, autoping is successfull and enough disk space is availbale on Agent server, it coud be incompatible JRE issue.

what is the agent version you trying to upgrade?

Agent is online, autoping is successful from the scheduler and we have just over a gig available disk space.
We are trying to upgrade to version 12.0.01.

That part is clear. What is the current version of Agent you are upgrading from?

This could be a firewall issue.  How the staging works is a job is run in the agent which creates a JAR file and the JAR file will download the necessary files from the WCC server.  So you will need https connectivity from the Agent to the WCC server over the WCC port.  If WCC was installed using the default port,  it will be 8443.  There are also some log files which would be in the spool directory of the agent a shell script ends in ...AgentInventoryCommandScript.sh and a directory wcc_agent_cmd.  If you navigate to to the last directory it will contain a cmd.err and cmd.out.  After staging you should be able to get some more details about the staging which may help.
