    Dear All ,

We have  HA Set up (Primary and Secondary autosys server)  in our environment  both in prod and non production .  I would like to understand the maximum number of jobs that can be deployed  without affecting the performance of autosys.

Currently we have approximately 2,55,000 executions in a day.

    Hi,

Performance depends on so many things....
it depends no only on the number of jobs you have but on their starting conditions. it is not the same jobs without any starting condtion to jobs with many jobs and time conditions.
It depends on how the day executions are spread during the day.
    It depends on configuration SCHED_SCALE & DB_CONNECTIONS
It depends on your hardware and DB performance.....

So difficult to guess the max limit or jobs running if you had not done a stress test when you built your environment.

    Best regards.

    Joe is spot on. ;-)
you can have 20K jobs defined and have 1 million executions a day. etc.
it all depends .. also if they are in a box. if they use workload balancing.
You can tune and run several 1000 jobs a minute to run with little lag.
    Test.
    just my 3 cents

    Hi

3 years ago, product manager did a benchmark document. By comparing hardware, Autosys configuration and box/job design, it can help you.
Benchmark can show 100..... jobs / day but in real life when all large boxes will start at 20:00, user can complain that a job has started at 20:03.

The benchmark was performed with dual DB conf which add lag time. As you have a single DB conf, you may have better performance.

Large box and workload balancing can have a large overhead depending.

I have benchmarked AutoSys for 25+ years and tuned it and worked with all the owners of the product.

SP6Cum1 has fixes. If it is oracle there's a possibility that a bad plan is being used. 12cR2 has such issues.

    Good Luck.
