    Hello All,

We currently haven an AutoSys 11.3.6 SP8 environment running on Windows with a SQL Always On backend. We are starting the project to upgrade to 12.0 and were hoping to throw this out there and get a consensus of what others have done and what is the best approach. The questions is to upgrade existing environment or install on new hardware?

Obviously the challenge would be to move data if installing fresh. If we were to jil in all jobs to a fresh environment and connect that instance of autosys to our existing database would those jobid's remain the same or would they be seen as new jobs and the history would be lost?

My thinking would be that we install fresh on new servers, connect to existing database, and then jil in jobs, calendars, variables. We would have to jil in jobs with an initial status. Is this an oversimplification? Welcoming input or to poke holes in the plan.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

We are also starting to plan out our Upgrade but was hoping to do an in place upgrade instead off install on new servers and jil things in as Wayne was proposing, we are using Oracle RAC back end.

Curious what others have done and what the recommended approach is and pros/cons between the two approaches.
