    Posted Feb 15, 2019 02:28 PM

    Hi All,

    So we are facing one major issue while installing autosys server we have used FOC Multiplatform binaries to install the Autosys server. Everything is getting installed apart from the Agent. I have raised the case with CA as well but it's been more than 3 days and they are also not able to provide any solution till yet.

    I have some doubt regarding the platform is rhel 7.5 compatible with autosys ? Though the script present inside the binaries says platform is supported but did anyone have faced same issue that agent is not getting installed with binaries. We even tried installing the Agent as standalone but same errors are there as well.

    I have attached below the log files of AE Installation & Standalone Agent installation.

    Below is one error :-

    Not sure if you ever solved this issue but I had the same. The problem is that the DISPLAY is set which causes the ¦ Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported ¦
    ¦ Unable to load and to prepare the installer in console or silent mode. ¦ errors and the installation to fail.
    Unset the DISPLAY and try again. I had success with both remove/install new and just the repair options.

    Hey Jeremy ,
    I had this problem as well, couldnt manage to get the AE to install the Agent with the rest of the components.

    I havent seen the DISPLAY message, you might want to consider running the command " unset DISPLAY" and try again the installation.

    At any rate , if this doesnt solve the issue, you could :
    install the Agent individuality - using the same installation / with Agent only installation.

    If you can see the agent name in the unisrvnctr status command then you can try and start/stop from there.

    If its there - but not responding to the start/stop all
    then use the unisrvcntr  --with {agent name} command (must be with root) and try again.

    The start/stop should be under /etc/init.d/waae_{agent name}

    Hope it helps,

    Yoni

    If unsetting the DISPLAY does not work.  It could be this problem. The problem is related to the STIX font being installed on the machine and a change in Java to default to the STIX font.

    This appears to be a Java bug as identified by Oracle Java bug JDK-8188030, https://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=JDK-8188030.

    A workaround is to create the file /etc/fonts/local.conf and put the following in the file:

     <?xml version='1.0'?>

    <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM 'fonts.dtd'>

    <fontconfig>

      <alias>

        <family>serif</family>

        <prefer><family>Utopia</family></prefer>

      </alias>

      <alias>

        <family>sans-serif</family>

        <prefer><family>Utopia</family></prefer>

      </alias>

      <alias>

        <family>monospace</family>

        <prefer><family>Utopia</family></prefer>

      </alias>

      <alias>

        <family>dialog</family>

        <prefer><family>Utopia</family></prefer>

      </alias>

      <alias>

        <family>dialoginput</family>

        <prefer><family>Utopia</family></prefer>

      </alias>

    </fontconfig>

    Hi,

    If you have the following packages installed, remove them. InstallAnywhere doesn't seem to like these somehow.

    rpm -qa | grep xorg-x11-fonts-Type1
    rpm -qa | grep stix-fonts

    Thanks,
