Hello, lovely Rally Users, and Happy Friday!
I have a good thing and a not so good thing to report.
Let's start with the good.
We recently released an update that ensures your list page context is remembered, when you navigate to a full-detail editor and back to your list view.
Previously the list page would refresh and re-render with all hierarchies collapsed, placing you back on row position # 1.
This big pain point has been addressed. Your hierarchy expansion as well as your row position are now persisted. Yay to that!
Now onto the not so good thing.
When you open multiple full-detail editors in layers, closing the last full-detail editor will no longer take you back to the previous full-detail editor, but rather to your initial page of origin. This is an unintended outcome and one we will be addressing.
Let's walk through an example using our Portfolio Items page to make this more clear.
Steps:
- Open Portfolio Items page
- Open full-detail editor for a work item. Let's say your lowest-level portfolio item
- Click on the User Story collection tab of the full-detail editor
- Open full-detail editor for a given User Story
- Clicking 'X' on the full-detail editor for the User Story
- You are now returned to your original position of the Portfolio Items page
The good part is that we are keeping your page context intact: Expanded hierarchies and row position are remembered.
Unfortunately, we negatively impacted the workflow when multiple full-detail editors are opened.
Work Around:
Users can currently leverage the browser back button to get back to the previous full-detail editor.
We are working on a solution to address the issue described above.
Thanks for all your feedback and stay tuned for an update.
Have a great weekend.
Best,
