Will the story points on defects be counted towards burndown/burn up & velocity charts?

We are trying to adopt an approach wherein instead of having story for each defect to count for efforts we are trying to assign story points (Plan Estimate field value) to defects in an iteration.

Will this be also counted towards burndown/burnup charts?
Will this be also counted towards velocity chart?

The essence of asking this question is there is different treatment/purpose for defects vs stories in rally.

Yes. If the Defects are scheduled into the iteration along with Stories, all of the points assigned to both Work Product types as well as hours assigned to their Tasks will be considered in burnup/burndown and velocity charts.
