    Hi

Is there a way I can copy/clone multiple stories, or better yet an entire project. Almost like a templated project with standard user stories in it (its for a weird scenario, this is not the way we manage most of our projects and work ;-)

I don't want to have to copy each individual user story so am looking to see if there are other options.

    Thanks

Have you tried Portfolio Item copy ? (Github)

It enables you to copy from any artifact level down

I use it but am looking for an enhancement

From what I see, if you go to an epic via Portfolio items - features, and copy it, it does not pick up the child stories.

I am using it and all artifacts get copied including User Stories but maybe I am misunderstanding your need

    Hi Chas,

Would you mind explaining the exact steps you use?  Perhaps I'm doing something different to attempt copy than you.

Also, have you seen this copy work with epic stories (stories with the children tab populated with linked stories)?

    Thank you.

    Not at all Stephen

I have a template Initiative and I select one Team Feature at a time to copy all artifacts below that selected level
I have not tried a full Initiative but don't see any reason it would not work
I have NOT tried linked stories but you may be able to add that in the setup dialogue box

Attached are instructions I sent to our Users, there is more than you will need but should help explain what I do

Let me know how you get on

Yes it sounds promising. One of my team is going to test it out

Searching on how to leverage "Templates" within Rally that can be useful for a copy of ALL the details from a Feature and its associated items.  I finally found the solution within Chas's attached document that with the add-on allows a robust template to be created and copied to save time in creating user stories and tasks associated with these stories.  The built-in "Template" that can be used from within a Feature only copies the USer stories and NOT the details of the task.  The steps you provided allow a quick way to copy everything which is a large time saver, and really demonstrates the value of a template!  Again, exactly what I was looking for!
