Milestone field on a Risk?

We had a request to display the milestone on the Risks.  When I look at the fields for a risk, I see an option to add milestone and that it is turned on as visible to all of the teams.  When looking at the risk record itself, I don't see it displayed.  It is also not an option in the "show fields" drop down.  Should we be able to attach the milestone field to a risk?
