Does the Rally Connector for JIRA work with JIRA OnDemand?

My company uses JIRA OnDemand (Cloud Version) for its agile processes. We are working with another company that uses Rally. We'd like to choose (and manage ourselves) a select group of issues for two way syncing between Rally and JIRA.

Can we use the Rally Connector for JIRA for this, or do we need to have an on-premise installation of JIRA for that to work?

It will talk to whatever Jira instance you configure it to access.  As long as the machine on which you install the connector has sufficient network to be able to communicate with it.  It also needs credentials with sufficient access.
