    Hello,

I was trying to uninstall the Access Gateway software on my Linux machine.

I had it installed to a specific directory under /opt/apps,

Ran the uninstaller and it was successful. However, when I got to re-install the Access Gateway.
When I put in the Registry location as /opt/apps - it prompts me with the error message:
    "Missing Instance Information!
    ----------------------------------------
CA Access Gateway instance already exists on this machine but the instance is not detectable because the //opt/apps/CA/SiteMinder_Secure_Proxy location is empty. The upgrade cannot continue. To resolve the issue, see the documentation."

I am NOT trying to upgrade. Simply just re-install. But the /opt/apps/CA/SiteMinder_Secure_Proxy path is not present anymore after the install.

How am I able to uninstall successfully so I can reinstall this? Where do I have to go to remove the registry location to help me progress further with this install? How do I fix this?

    Let me know! Thanks!

    Hi Tiffany,

After having uninstalled the product, check the following location :

    /etc

Ensure that you create and maintain one CA Access Gateway registry
location to track all the instances of CA Access Gateway installed on
a machine. Prior to release 12.8, /opt/etc was the default location
path provided forCA Access Gateway Registry. Now that the path is
configurable from release 12.8, user can use the chosen configurable
location path for CA Access Gateway registry for all subsequent CA
    Access Gateway installs and upgrades.

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-single-sign-on/12-8/en/upgrading/in-place-upgrade/upgrade-ca-access-gateway

    /var

    .com.zerog.registry.xml

This hidden file contents all information about the installed
product. If you install the product from scratch, remove this file
first to avoid having the product to detect a component which is not
    really installed.

This mention about the Policy Server applies to the CA Access Gateway
    (SPS) too :

Remove Directories, Registry Entries, and Services

Manually remove the following folders, files, registry settings, and
virtual directories after uninstalling the Policy Server:

    Windows system

    siteminder_home\bin
    siteminder_home\install_config_info
    C:\Program Files\ZeroG Registry\com.zerog.registry.xml
