New functionality released in 12.8.03
The business value it provides
JWE support for JWT authentication
Prior to 12.8.03 the JWT authentication scheme supported digital signatures that ensured integrity of the JWT token. With 12.8.03 SiteMinder also supports encryption of the payload in the JWT token increasing the security and supporting the use cases where encryption of the JWT payload is needed.
REST for OIDC
More efficient management
Better enables DevOps
As organizations grow their adoption of DevOps they want to use REST interfaces to configure changes in their IAM security layer to improve efficiency of management. Expanding the REST interface to OIDC supports DevOps-driven accelerated configuration.
Identity Mapping for Federation
More efficient management.
This enhances an organization's ability enable a user access to an application when the information needed to enable that access is spread across multiple user repositories without requiring the customer the overhead of replicating/copying/moving attributes from their native repository.
Windows device registration in Azure
More efficient management
Expands Access Use Case Support
SiteMinder has been enhanced to enable seamless registration of Windows 10 devices in Azure AD via the Azure AD Hybrid Join method. This capability will shuttle Windows 10 device object data from on premises AD to Azure AD using the federation functionality in SiteMinder.
OIDC For AWS Cognito
SiteMinder will act as an OpenID Connect provider for enabling user authentication to other AWS services such as Amazon S3 or DynamoDb.
This release marks the first release with support for AdoptOpenJDK. Additionally, today's release does not include the Solaris Kit for the 12.8.03 Access Gateway. That kit will be released shortly.
