Report Server - SSO 12.7 or 12.8

Hi all.

In the past with Siteminder 12.0 we used the Report Server provided by CA Technologies.

Today for another environment we are thinking to implement the CA Report Server with our SSO 12.7.

It is not clear about how we can proceed: we saw some presentations about CA Technologies doesn't provide anymore a framework for the report server (like Business Objects). We don't have any kind of solution like this and it is not clear how we can proceed:

Is the report server package ootb ready or we need to have a specific license also for Business Object?

What in case we don't want to use/buy Business Objects? Is there any other opensource free tool?

Would like to know if there is any replacement for report server, if we deploy CA SSO 12.6 what report tools shall we use?

 

CA SSO 12.6 can use CABI 4.x. Customer who has the product license prior to 1st April 2016 can use CABI 4.x till end of support 31st Dec 2018. For customer who has product license after 1st April 2016 is not entitled to use CABI 4.x.

 

What if existing report server end of life, what other report tools shall customer migrate to ?

 

The path we are taking in CA SSO is rather than bundling 3rd party report server in CA SSO directly, our strategy is to have customers leverage their corporate BI system and be able to use CA SSO data being published and then available for their standard corporate BI solution.

 

We will be deprecating our support for an in-product Report Server. When existing report server end of life, the customer will be able to either
a. Buy continual usage of the report server from the Report Server’s owner (in this case CABI 4.1 SP3 is a packaged version of SAP’s Business Objects report product)
b. Or they can choose to use a Report engine of their own choosing that can use audit data that is published from CA SSO.

At the moment we dont' have any SAP BO o similar but we have an old SSO license from 10 years ago, so, based on the kb:

we could install CABI 4.x and then the Report Server: isn't it?

In this case, were we can find CABI? It was embedded in the previous Report Server version and, based on the desclaimer, we can still use it.

Do you really want to install the report server if it will be out of support in four months?

 

Anyway, if you do, go to the download management section of the CA Support site and search for "CA Single Sign On Policy Server".

Then filter your results to search for "business"

One of the results will be "CA Single Sign-On for Business Users MULTI-PLATFORM", assuming that you are licensed for it. In the "release" dropdown, you can select "BOXI" to download the report server.
