I understand the SSO Bindings in SAML Federation while configuring Partnership i.e. HTTP POST and HTTP Artifact, but i would like to understand which method of SSO Binding is generally preferred and why over the other? Also, if we can list down the difference between two that would be helpful.
Your inputs on the above would be helpful.
Refer : Federation Post-Binding VS Post/Artifact Binding –
From my own experience, the POST binding is much more common than the artefact binding. One reason for that is you don't need to worry about setting up a back channel. This can often be difficult to do due to network challenges.
Within the POST binding, you have the option of the Authnrequest being sent via POST or redirect. In my experience, redirect is much more common for the authentication request.
Thanks Leo and Pearse for response!!
