SiteMinder-UI ERROR [com.ca.siteminder.directory.PartitionLoader]

Hi,

 

i've installed some time ago SM, registered it with ./XPSRegClient (no fails/errors in it's logs) and now i wanted to use the GUI for it. when i start the app server (default JBoss) now and want to log into it with siteminder superuser account i see "Error: Username and password do not match." message in the browser and the error logmessage presented below in the log file.

do you have please any idea where the rootcause could be?

One of the points mentioned was that "XPSRegClient" was run a while back. Ideally if I am not wrong it is only valid for 24hrs. If we did not register (login to WAM UI) after running XPSRegClient within a stipulated time, the registration file that gets created by XPSRegClient is invalidated. One would need to re-run XPSRegClient and try again.

 

NOTE : XPSRegClient only creates a Registration File. It does not Register the WAM UI with Policy Server. The first login to WAM UI registers the WAM UI to Policy Server by consuming the Registration File.

 

I still have some confusion surrounding when was the XPSRegClient executed and when was the first login to WAM UI (where we ever able to login WAM UI before this?).

The error :

is due that the administrator configured in

AdminUI file :

 

/opt/CA/siteminder/adminui/server/default/data/siteminder/

f567ea1f-9522-39b7-aaa1-610127a009d9.conf

 

is not valid anymore.

 

You may try to solve this issue :

 

1 - Restart the AdminUI (if you do not have done it

    already);

2 - Re-register the AdminUI if the AdminUI does NOT use

    external Admin Store :

 

    1. Stop the AdminUI server.

    2. Delete the data folder from

    "<SITEMINDER_WAMUI_INSTALLATION_LOCATION>CA\

    siteminder\adminui\server\default" location

    3. Restart the AdminUI server.

    4. Run the XPSRegClient service in PS installation machine

    5. Login into WAMUI with valid credentials.

the issue is solved.

 

/dev/random pre-requisite wasnt configured:

 

mv /dev/random /dev/random.org
ln –s /dev/urandom /dev/random

 

after setting it, everything works fine.
