SOI and FLASH plugin support replacement news?

  • 1.  SOI and FLASH plugin support replacement news?

So UIM just had their bright talk about replacing all the UIM > UMP Flash plugins.

What are SOI's plans for replacing the flash plugins in the SOI UI? It's only 6 months away.

    Hi Dan,
If I am not mistaken a SOI patch to replace Flash is planned to be released sometime in Q3 of 2020.
    Thanks

    Ah thank you Shaheen.
Is there any early beta release of this patch so I can test ahead of time to see what the new UI will look like? Do you know anything more about it? Is it just replacing the flash page with HTML 5 portlet?

    Thanks..

Sorry I don't have any further detail on it.
    Thanks

    Hi Dan,
the flash-free version is part of the "SO14226 Mandatory Patch August 2020", which you can download already.

    Hey Michael,

I am going to ask the crazy question.  Should this fix be applied to the GUI servers or the manager?  I went to the download link and the instructions don't say where.  I just want to ensure we install correctly.

    Thanks.

    Hi RJ,

that is no "crazy" question at all.
This is what the readme of the patch says:
This PTF must be applied to the following:

    * CA Service Operations Insight Manager
    * CA Service Operations Insight UI Server
    * CA SOI Connector-Only System (If applicable)
These are systems with Catalyst 2.5 connectors running
in CA SOI Integration Services. The patch is not
applicable to CA Catalyst 3.x containers or connectors.

    Hello,
So I just tried this out and afterwards all I get is the SOI Web page just in that constant loading state.
It never loads. Its been 30min so far.

I've cleared all my browser cache, java cache, shredded my mail... Any ideas?

    Did you get this through?

    Thanks

No. I reverted back my stopping all SOI services and then deleting the entire SOI directory and pasting my old SOI dir backup back in place.
Just FYI, always make full directory backup before patching.
This patch says you cannot undo in the readme so dir back up is important.

I think this may not be working b/c we have an integration with SOI and Service Now to open tickets. But really those file should not interfere with this b/c they are all tomcat\lib\ files that make the integration work but looking at the thread dump logs I see all the calls that the integration does to sync with SNOW INC (tickets)

    Hi Dan,

    which browser do you use?
I am just seeing the same behavior on my system, for Internet Explorer and Firefox (32bit).
When using Chrome, all works fine.
I updated Firefox to the newest 64bit version, and it works fine there as well now.

    Hi Michael,

i recently implemented this patch in customer's environemt and it went fine. But the SSO from dashboard is not working anymore. when i click on "view report" in the Quality tab of the dashboard, it takes me to CABI but doesn't login with that session. before the patch implementation, SSO was working fine. Are there any changes required and did you also face this issue ?

i don't see anything in readme file reagrding SSO post patch implementation.

Hi Michael, I was using Chrome browser.
I am restricted to only what our System Admins allow us to use in our VDI's so the entire company and those who use SOI are limited to what ever version is present in our VDI.

Just checked and we have the latest chrome version and its 64-bit:

Google Chrome is up to date
    Version 85.0.4183.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
