    Posted May 20, 2019 03:43 PM

So I just applied this in my SOI LAB :

    SO07936ZIP155.0 MB04/16/19

    WIN-SOI 4.2  APR2019 MONTHLY UPDATE KIT

and afterwards I thought something was weird b/c I didn't see any alerts.

The services Tab lost the Alerts Tab on the right hand side and the alerts queues can't see any alerts either.

    Anyone else see this issue?

    Services Tab its gone:

    Alert Queue no Alerts Tab:

    Hi Dan,

I just applied the patch on my system.  All is working fine, no tabs are missing.

Can you check in the Privileges of the Usergroup if something is disabled there to not show the Alerts tab?

Hi Michael, this is very weird. I'm part of the Admin group so all privileges are enabled.

Not sure what else to look at here. I have a support case open for this.

    Thanks.

    Dan,

I from your screendumps I can see that you have some UI customisations in place. You might want to doublecheck the various files whether or not any updates may have taken place (on the default files, or others). Just to rule out that this isn't the culprit.

    Kind regards,

    Vincent

Hi Vince, yeah before applying this patch everything worked just fine. I have the same setup in 2 other SOI environments and they work just fine.

This was the lab I tried the APR 2019 patch and it broken it.

I also just tired uninstalling this patch and it just completely broke SOI. It removed 80% of the jar files from the SOI/SamUI/webapps/sam/lib directory.

I cannot now launch the SOI console to this SOI instance.

On a working SOI instance, this directory is supposed to have all these jar files:

In this lab both the SOI mgr and the ui are on the same machine.

So does anyone know how I can trick SOI into letting me re-install the 4.2 base? I can't now b/c even after backing out the patch it says cannot install and older version over a newer version.
I'd like to just re-install to fix this and move on.

    Hi Daniel,

This may be due to the old UI entries in the Registry.

The registry file located at C:\Program Files x(86)\.Zero G Registry folder, you may backup the original file and rename the file.

Now, installer should allow, also, you may check System registry entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CA\SAM"

    Thanks

    Hi Dan,

This could be due to registry files on this machine, the registry file located at C:\Program FIles x(86)\.Zero G Registry\, you may rename this file and run installer.
Also, check this system registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CA\SAM" too

    Thanks

Just as a follow up, I did end up having to un-install, fully clean the box if directories and registry and then re-installed. This time the patch did not remove the alerts tab.
