  • 1.  Can SOI be mapped with the "Name" of the device in Spectrum?

    Posted Oct 26, 2016 08:02 AM

In our environment, we have SOI integrated with CA Spectrum, wherein the device name in SOI is the "System name" of the device in Spectrum.

SOI picks up the "system name" of the device added in Spectrum but not the "name".

Is there any way, by which we can map "Name" of the device with SOI.

    Hi,

yes, you can modify the Connector Policy to map the Name attribute instead of the SysName.

Normally SysName is the primary Correlation criteria.

Thus, you have to think about:

    • do you want the entire object to be known by its Name instead of the SysName in SOI
    • or shall only the Label be changed to show the Name (but internally the objects is known by its SysName)?

This mainly depends on the situation if you have more monitoring tools bringing in the same device (known by Name or SysName) and the CIs should be correlated.
