UIM Connector Policy not [Write] section?

So I'm finally looking at the GA UIM connector policy and I'm comparing it to my GD UIM Connector policy and it has lots of additional classes that I don't need. But I was going thru each section and I noticed that in the new policy there is no <Write> section?
So in my old policy after each EventClass section I have:

[EventClass name="Item"]
     [Classify] ....... [/Classify]
     [Format]....[/Format]

     [Write]  [!-- Added to over write the Global Policy file so we can write out the CIuserAttribute1 CI Property field --]
         [Field type='file' properties='*' /]
         [Field type='publishcache' properties='*' /]
     [/Write]

Yet in the GA UIM Connector policy this <Write> part doesn't exist any any section.
Why is that and is it needed?

Hello Daniel,

This <write> section doesn't require for Catalyst connectors like UIM. We use this section in ifw based connectors
