Hi Paulo,
are these database alerts all coming from the same probe type? Or do you use different probes for monitoring databases?
Every probe has a different format in UIM and has to be catered for in the UIM connector configuration/policy.
Can you see a specific pattern which alarms are related to the UIM server and not to the DB server?
To attach an alert to the server where the probe is running is a "security mechanism" in the connector to avoid alerts getting lost if not all information about the real source is available. This can either be due to missing information in UIM (sometimes the CIs get only created in the UIM when the first alert arrives, and thus "too late" for the first alert) or when monitoring remote hosts, the host itself might not be known to the system, etc.

Subject: UIM Database Alerts Relating to Wrong CI in SOI
Hi
We have UIM forwarding alerts to SOI.
Some database alerts (not all) of specific nodes (not all) are being related to the UIM Primary Server CI instead to relate to the database server.
The column "Name" of the SOI alerts console has the UIM server hostname instead of the database server hostname.
This behavior is not happening to all database alerts and servers.
UIM version is 8.5.1.1
SOI version is 4.2.0.188.20170906
Catalyst version: 3.4.1.265
Can you help us on this please?
Thanks and best regards,
Paulo Ferreira
