Fields in Rally

I just created a new field and set it to only be visible to Admin, so it's available to the SA, WSA, and PA's.  I really would like a field that is only visible to SA and WSA's since we have so many PA'[s now.  Is there any way to create a field that the true admins can see and manage without having project teams seeing or changing?

1. To manage, edit, or create fields, you must have subscription or workspace administrator permissions.  Project Admins can't edit field definitions.

2. How did you set a field to only be visible to admins?  I don't see that option when I edit field definitions (screen capture below).

Matt, this is only an option for Subscription level fields, like a User or Workspace field.

Hey Sheri, 

This is something I remember discussing a few years ago as a nice-to-have feature, but I think the use case for it was better addressed by a different type of field.

Can you share more about the use case for this type of workspace admin or subscription admin -only field?

Oh also -- there's not currently a way to limit a field's visibility to just WSAs and SAs.

Hi John - 

We are trying to figure out a way to allow global permissions in Rally as it doesn't exist today for Viewers, Editors, or Project Admins.  We were planning on using a custom field on the user object and set it Admin, but now if the Project Admins will be able to update the fields, then this is going to cause problems with the process if it can't be controlled at a higher level.
