How are new User Stories and Defects ranked in the backlog by default?  As we are add items some are defaulting to the top and some the bottom.  Is there a way to set this default?

    Hey Donna, it's funny - someone else asked a question very similar to this one just the other day: Which defects appear in the backlog, and when do items appear at the top?

     

    To answer your question, newly-created work items are positioned by default at the top of the page. More info here and here.

     

    Could it be that the list of work items on your Backlog page is not sorted by rank? If not, it might just show up wherever until you sort by rank.
