  • 1.  Removing TLS 1.0, 1.1 browser support

I've seen several articles details below, that is making me wonder what the impact would be on older version of CA Service Desk, we're currently using 12.6 and whether it would have an impact if the major players end support for TLS 1.0/1.1.  Anyone else been looking into this?

    https://caniuse.com/#search=tls (bottom of page)
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/security/solving-tls1-problem states "Also note that Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 will both drop TLS 1.0/1.1 support in 2020."
https://blog.chromium.org/2019/10/chrome-ui-for-deprecating-legacy-tls.html states "In Chrome 81, which will be released to the Stable channel in March 2020, we will begin blocking connections to sites using TLS 1.0 or 1.1"
https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2018/10/15/removing-old-versions-of-tls/ "In March of 2020, Firefox will disable support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1."

    Hi Simon,

I know CA made provision to cater for this via TLS 1.2 for r14.1 and r17.x. I'm really not sure what the impact will be on your end, but it looks like whatever issues you will face, you are going to be on your own as there will be no support for TLS 1.1 and r12.6 is EOS on CA\Broadcom side.

Best would be to start considering upgrading to the latest version.
