Documentation could be misleading on this because of the word "recommended" in sentence "For
conventional configuration
, it is recommended that you install the
xFlow Interface
server on a secondary server." What it actually means is that you can install xFlow on your primary SDM server of conventional configuration. If you want to install it on a dedicated server on conventional configuration, it is
mandatory to install secondary server for SDM first on that dedicated server and after that you can install xFlow interface.

Please note that in Advanced Availability (AA) mode, the xFlow Interface can only be installed on an Application Server.
