  • 1.  Upgrading SAM to 4.5 - cannot update DB (Process "control_data_import" is currently running) message

    Posted Sep 21, 2020 10:31 AM

    hello and Good Morning

currently trying to upgrade our SAM environment to 4.5 and PHP7.2... all steps has completed, server was rebooted.. launched SAM and expecting it to update the DB... but instead.. seeing this on the "Admin->Update Database" (first) page:

    Process "control_data_import" is currently running since 2019-11-15 03:28:52 (ASP-3)

If I check the installation, it does say that the db is out of date and an upgrade is required.

    thanks.

Do you see any errors in Admin-> Monitoring-> Error Log?

    Thank Sir,

I cannot navigate to anywhere else as it requires that the DB be upgraded first.. but I manage to resolve the issue by looking for the "control_data_import" in the system_configurations table.. the value is set to "locked".. I updated it to "idle"... once done, I refreshed the screen it prompted me if I want to proceed with in updating DB.  so all is good now.

next time, I will check the value of these keys in "Administration/Configuration/Browse Configuration".

As always, thank you very much.

    Hi Kenneth,

You can also delete the entire key "control_data_import" in "Administration/Configuration/Browse Configuration". The key is created every time you run data import so it will not be an issue if you delete it. It was probably set to locked because master catalog import was not completed or something like that. Glad you resolved it.
