  • 1.  Upgrade to SDM 17.1 Using Xtraction

    Posted Dec 13, 2017 11:04 AM

Looking to upgrade to 17.1 in the (very) near future. We currently have 12.9 and Xtraction 14.1.

Has anyone upgraded to 17.1 and still use Xtraction? Have you come across any issues or challenges in regards to Xtraction being compatible to any changes to CMDB once SDM is upgraded to 17.1?

    Hi Marc,

There shouldnt be any issues using Xtraction with SDM 17.0 (17.1 is not out yet...thats coming in Feb time frame).  The data model didnt really change much.  You should be fine.

    THanks,

    Jon

    Jon,

Any new object/attributes will then not be visible in Xtraction to be used for if needed.

Will CA then provide a new updated Xtraction connector if the data model have change?

Don't matter much for me as we have an enterprise version where you can edit the datamodel but will not be the case if purchased from CA.

    Thanks

    Hi Jerome,

Unfortunately we cannot build a data model here as its not code that we own.  As of now, the data model is offered as-is.  You would need to manually add any new attributes (which there are really not many at all at this point).  As a side note, you do not need the enterprise license to edit the existing data model - you are able to do so with the license that CA provides.  What you cannot do is add additional data sources to an existing data model.  So any customer who purchased Xtraction through CA IS able to add custom tables/columns and new tables to the data model on their own.

    Hope this helps.
