I am using service catalog data objects to Query from db. The output of the column name are displayed in small letter. I want it to be in capital letter (starting letter). I have used alias but no use, Service catalog convert it into small letters.Below is the screen shot
output :column name in small letter
Is there any Ca patch available on this or solution to get output how it is defined in alias
Good Day, Shubha.
Within mssql studio the query "select resource_name as LBL_Asset_Name FROM ca_owned_resource" is executed. The result shows the column-heading case sensitive 'LBL_Asset_Name'.
Where the SC-admin/reportbuilder/dataobject does not show the correct case sensitive 'LBL_Asset_Name' heading.
Analysis for this do not show a patch already being avialable to resolve this.
Thanks an dkind regards, Louis van Amelsfort.
The heading shows correct on my local environment in the following way:
Enter the query-text
For the 'Fields:' parameter, hit the spyglass icon and click OK
The column names will then show as field names in the 'Fields:' parameter.
It is in this 'Fields:' parameter that you can change/set the case of the fields for the heading.
And the heading then shows LBL in capitals too.
Kind regards, Louis.
As started to work on case 480573 this morning, I managed to reproduce this on a local server.
With this said, then please 'close' this community thread?
Thanks and kind regards, Louis.
You can replace the asterisk (*) in 'Fields' with the columns or aliases using the desired case similar to the following;
I don't see a resolution that actually works. Am I missing something?
When I use an alias in the DO and click on the Find it replaces my sql Case-Sensitive with all lower case.
This is an issue when trying to populate multiple fields on a form because they need to match case.
Please let me know if I missing the resolution some where.
Moving to ITSM community, Service Catalog category.
No luck after trying again. I'll open a ticket since this is actually supposed to work!
Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I did. As soon as I replace the lower case letters with my upper case, I no longer get data returned.
I've opened a ticket with CA and Jason Wolf (above) is actually working my case.
Have a great day!
I have done this before it doesn't reflect. It still shows small letter
This is why Jason said : You need to populate the "fields" information manually, not by using the "Find" function. You can write them with the appropriate case.
Did you get any resolution from ca?? I am not able to get it how its mentioned.
I wasn’t able to get that to work. I’ll try it again.

Not yet. Jason Wolf has my ticket and is looking into it.
Actually i had so much programming bugs due to case sensitive variables that i gave up and started using only lowercase in my data objects
Was there any resolution to this? Im facing the same issue.
Yes have got patch from CA. you can raise an ticket and get patch for your environment.
