  • 1.  Is it possible to attach an event to configuration item?

    Posted Dec 10, 2015 08:09 AM

    We want to do a schedule calculation on the configuration item when the "expiration date" of the contract ci is reached.  I knew that there is no scheduler in CA Service Desk and the only possible way to do it is to use a event macro to trigger the calculation.  However I am not able to find the way on how it can be done.  Does anyone has any idea? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris - at the current time I dont believe you can attach an event to a CI.  Most folks use the lifecycle dates and report against it either weekly or monthly to obtain that information.  For something like this, you may want to post this as an "idea" here in the communities, where other folks can vote for it, and product management can review it.

    Thanks,

    Jon I.

    Hello,

    nr.maj file contains the following definition:

    OBJECT nr {

        DISPLAY_GROUP "event asset tree_node stored_query macro act_log object_notify_actlog notify_rule notify_msg_tpl" ;

    event basicaly means that you can attach event to configuration item.

    You can try to use one of the methods described here

    SPEL EVENT methods
