Upgrading CA SDM 12.7 to 12.9 , how to transfer only transaction data from older envi to new envi?

Is there any possible way to transfer to transfer only transaction data (DB) from older 12.7 to 12.9 .

And one more question is Is there any way to transfer all the configurations and SLA's from 12.7 to 12.9 ..

What do you mean by 'Transaction Data' ? As for the SLA configurations transfer, it might be possible in 14.1 with the new content promotion feature, but not on 12.9.

Hi Abishek,

Unfortunately migration is an all-or-none type of operation. We do not support extracting data from 12.7 and loading it into 12.9, nor do we support the loading of single tables from one system to another.  The only real supported way to do this would be to upgrade/migrate the entire environment including all of the data.  Then you can purge out old tickets using the archive/purge rules.

I agree with Jon - it would be best to migrate ALL data and then blast away the data that you don't need, rather than the other way around.

 

Although, if at all possible, get rid of as much data as possible first prior to migration. That's the best time to do it.

 

Note that you can selectively move data from one location to another, but this is something that we'd refer you to a CA Business Partner or CA Services to do, as it involves making sure that the data mapping/transformation is strictly done.

 

All in all, you're best to (a) clean up data first and (b) migrate.
