We're doing a 11.3.4 UAPM re-install and in the installation wizard we get "IIS Not Found" error that prevents further installation activity. Any ideas on how to resolve? IIS is installed on the server.
Do you have IIS on Windows?
What is your Windows version?

There are special instructions for installing UAPM 11.3.4 onto a windows 2008 server.
You will have to install and apply the latest C19 patch in combination.
The specific instructions (depending on your OS and database release and bit level), are in .docx instructions located inside the C19 patch.
Please download the C19 patch (RO70200 ) from this URL: SAP NetWeaver Portal
Unzip the .caz file and follow the .docx instructions that apply to your environment.
Let me know how this goes.
Hi Gale here is the dilemma we face ... the U. S. Forest Service let its CA support lapse on UAPM 11.3.4 five years ago. Are we still able to grab what you wrote above? We're in process of resolving dilemma with various approaches. So, technically we have 11.3.4 with QO99416 and C12 patches. To complicate matters we are moving our current UAPM instance to W2008 as a test attempt because W2003 went/going end-of-life this month.
Your opinion on whether UAPM 11.3.4 with above patches "might" work on W2008 box?
I believe you can still access the URL without having to log into our support site. Please try it and let me know.
As an alternative, I'll check to see at what patch level we started providing the windows 2008 install instructions. If it was prior to C12, then you may have the instructions in your C12 patch files.
The instructions will definitely work over your C12 installation. We have many customers running 11.3.4 on Windows 2008.
When I logon and access link you provided it showed no downloads available
When I logged on CA Support, accessed link you mention above I get "no downloads available"
CA Asset Portfolio Management Solutions and Patches - CA Technologies
So, with this list Tiago posted is it legal for us to download since we have no CA Support 9since 2010) to use these files?
Still cannot access that C19 patch--"This solution belongs to a product for which you do not have an active license."
I've just checked the readme in the C19 patch.
We started supporting Windows 2008 (& 2008 R2) at the C8 patch level. The chart below shows what NEW databases and OS's were added at each patch level.

If you locate your C12 patch - RO34887, and unzip the .caz file - you should see the following .doc or .pdf files named:
APM 11.3.4 Windows 2008 32-bit - Installation Instructions
APM 11.3.4 Windows 2008 64-bit - Installation Instructions
If your mdb is installed is also upgrading to SQL Server 2008, then also see this document:
APM 11.3.4 SQL 2008-Support Instructions
Follow the above instructions for a NEW installation and follow the steps exactly.
Our SYSADMIN reports seeing these on our current production server:
RO40350.caz c:\CA\UAPM Install Files\C13
RO07324.caz c:\CA\UAPM Install Files\ApplyPTF
RO29416.caz c:\CA\UAPM Install Files\ApplyPTF
This aid in our discussion?
Yes, you can unzip the C13 patch and the instructions I mentioned earlier will be there. (C8 or later patches have the instructions).
When you get ready to use the APPLYPTF program, just use the latest dated version.
Our SYSADMIN just located installation/patches in our old file system. We show
in the installation directory plus the UAPM 11.3.4 app media as well
Excellent. You can backup/restore the mdb from one sql server to another (if necessary), or keep the mdb in place.
Next, proceed to install UAPM 11.3.4 according to the installation instructions in the C12 patch.
I think you are on your way.
Attempting tomorrow. Here is file structure we had. These are from 2011 timeframe--do we need to upgrade ApplyPTF, CAZIPXP, etc?
The existing 2008 sql server UAPM 11.3.4 database has been copied to an instance in our development environment already. I assume we just have to connect it to the new instance of UAPM in our development environment if all goes well tomorrow? Not touch the existing db at all?
You can use your existing CAZIPXP and APPLYPTF programs.
Look for the documentation I mentioned earlier (in your C12 folder) and read through it carefully before starting the new install.
After you read through it, then let me know if you have questions.
Hi Gale--just want to be clear and to verify with our patch C12 we can install 11.3.4 to operate on a W2008 server for the SQL Server--AND--a 2008 server for UAPM 11.3.4 application?
Hi glefko, yes this scenario is possible. As Gale previously mentioned, if you have access to the C12 patch extracted folder just take a look at the file named "APM 11.3.4 Windows 2008 64-bit - Installation Instructions.pdf" or "APM 11.3.4 Windows 2008 32-bit - Installation Instructions.pdf" so you can be more familiar on how to do this.
ASP.net question ... in our release notice instructions to build UAPM 11.3.4 it reads that ASP.net 2.0 is installed and running on 2008 server.
Note below graphic:
This screenshot means you have both 1.1 and 2.0 versions running.
HI Alexandre_Almeida, maybe glefko needs apply application pool on UAPM web site, glefko please expand default web site and look for folder it´s working on 1.1 or 2.0
This is fine. ASP .NET 1.1 is used primarily for the initial installation.
The application will run with ASP .NET 2.0.
Before I get started down wrong path wanted to clarify what I see on our end. One <DIR> has a C13 (this our PROD server) and further below from our file system I see C12, QO99416. Which one(s) should I be working with?
I would use the same patch level as database that you've copied over to DEV.
Let me know if I have this correct:
You're installing a NEW UAPM 11.3.4 application server, (creating a new empty mdb database) in a DEV environment (windows 2008/sql server 2008).
After that is installed and up and running, then you will point this UAPM 11.3.4 installation to your existing database that you've copied over to DEV.
As the database needs to be at the same patch level as the application, then make sure to patch the new UAPM 11.3.4 to the same level as the DEV database you want to use in the end.
Look in your current UAPM 11.3.4 installation at the <serverName>.HIS file in the \inetpub\wwwroot\Unicenter Asset Portfolio Management directory.
If the last patch applied says: RO11213W, this is C12
If the last patch applied says: R12001W, this is C13
Great! So now, check the patch level in the prod environment. That will tell you what patch to use during the new UAPM 11.3.4 install.
Make sure when you follow the instructions, to create the empty 'mdb' in a different instance, and do not overwrite the production copy you have in DEV.
Asked our SYSADMIN to grab the .HIS file for me
Found the following HIS file
[Wed Apr 25 22:13:55 2012] - PTF Wizard installed R12001W (ARGWEB)
[Wed Apr 25 22:13:55 2012] - PTF Wizard installed RO00066 (ARGWEB) : SUPERSEDED BY R12001W
Search could not find RO11213W
On your <blank> MDB comment--how does existing data get into blank MDB?--assume part of process?
Now that we know this: R12001W, this is C13 patch
Install C13 (follow installation document within for Windows 2008 32-bit)
Install UAPM 11.3.4
No other patches needed or prerequisite to C13?
You're creating an empty mdb (empty of YOUR data - it still has program data in it), just to test that the UAPM 11.3.4 application is installed correctly.
You'll test by launching the UAPM web client after installation. If that is successful, then you can point the UAPM 11.3.4 application to the database that you copied from PROD to DEV, so you have PROD data in your DEV environment for testing.
Gotcha thanks, let you know how it goes through tomorrow's attempt
One last question about MDB--do we have to rename the MDB that was copied to development environment to another name--OR--during 11.3.4 install can we name the blank "mdb" something else?
The UAPM 11.3.4 installer assumes 'mdb', so I would rename the one you copied over from production to some other name before you start the install.
I also noticed that our current UAPM setup is app server 32-bit and sql server 64-bit. UAPM works fine since they did that install. Okay ot proceed or better to match db and app servers to correct bit 64-bit?
I am following document titled "Installing UAPM 11.3.4 in a Windows 2008 Environment"
Step 2.4 asks to "Install MDB Optional Components"
I am performing this step on the App server and get the following error below. It "looks" like I need UAPM installation media package on both the app and database servers? In order to continue.
Yes, you will have to run the 'optional components' from the installer, directly on the database server.
Step 1.6 "Application Pools"
If Administrator is not available, then use 'Local System'
UAPM 11.3.4 install rebooting ...
Install doc now has me:
