  • 1.  Implementing the whole suite (USS,CATALOG,SDM,PAM,EEM) divided in 3 layers, is it possible?

    Hi dudes,

We are planning a implementation divided in 3 layers, front end layer, app servers layer and database layer, is it  possible?

I mean, In the front end, I would install a Web server, ( a secondary server in SDM), on it, would it be possible install the web service of catalog and uss and pam?

In the app layer, i would install application servers, like SDM (primary server), USS, EEM, PAM, CATALOG.

And, in the back-end I would be installing the database server.

would it be possible? Make an implementation divided in this 3 layers?

    eg:

    _____________________

    FRONT END:

Web server: the employees should be access the SDM, USS, PAM, from here.

    _____________________

    App server layer:

USS, PAM, CATALOG, EEM, SDM, servers application.

    _____________________

    BACK END:

    Db server.

    _______________________

All the layers are obviously connected each other.

    Thanks in advance.

We'll appreciate any help or tip.

    Best Regards

Technically this type of configuration should be just fine. The important thing is addressing any potential connectivity issues. Please make sure to review the product documentation concerning which ports each product uses for connectivity. Here is the link for ServiceDesk ports

    Hi dudes

    Thanks for your answers.

Finally, we will implement it using a load balancer server to access to the application layer.

    Catalog

For that, we have followed these steps: https://wiki.ca.com/display/CASM1401/Step+4+-+Set+Up+Load+Balancing#Step4-SetUpLoadBalancing-Updatethehttpd.confFile

    Unified Self Service.

    https://wiki.ca.com/display/CASM1401/_How%20to%20Set%20up%20the%20Cluster%20Environment%20for%20Unified%20Self-Service#i…

Then, we got the knowledge of how to do that, so we made the same things to CABI and PAM

Thanks to you two for the help.

    Regards.
