    Hi Arif,

"File Not found : \site\config.properties (Access is denied)" Is this file created within the NX_ROOT\site folder? Is this installation on windows environment? If yes, then 8.3 file notation is enabled? Also, ensure that you login to server as local adminstrator to run the installation.

    Thanks,

    Naveen

    Hi Arif,

Ensure that you run the installation as local admin. Right click on installation executable and select Run as Administrator.

If you would have other error after doing this please share with us.

    Thanks,

I run the setup 'Run as Administrator'. This error is related to java or database?

    Any solution?

    Thanks,

    Hi Alex,

Can you provide us with the stdlog and configure.log as well. Checkdb log might also be useful in this case as we have seen DB connection failing during the startup of SDM in DB admin mode.

    Hi,

    Please see the instal.log below.

I've seen a lot of problems related to database connection.

Through command line: sqlplus admca/'password'@'instance' works without problem.

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Yes of course,

But one question. I review the install.log file and i've a lot of problems related to database connection. The user that DBA creates can connect correctly, but 'mdbadmin' can not connect.

    Connecting to 172.******:1521/DSCC as ADMCA

Successfully loaded Oracle Server JDBC driver

Trying to connect to Oracle using the connect string=jdbc:oracle:thin:@//172.*******:1521/DSCC

    Connecting to 172.******:1521/DSCC as ADMCA

Successfully loaded Oracle Server JDBC driver.

Trying to connect to Oracle using the connect string=jdbc:oracle:thin:@//172.********1521/DSCC

Unable to obtain Database Connection for user : mdbadmin May be a fresh installation.ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

    Connection to database failed

No Configuration found in DB. Maybe a fresh installation.

I set up the same password on database configuration when install CA Service Desk Manager 14.1 and pass the step. If the passwords aren't the same, probably says me that mdbadmin password is wrong.

    Thanks a lot,

    Alex

I believe we're having trouble loading the 32 bit Oracle Client libraries and that's why SDM Start.

If 32 bit Client was installed,  I think we need make sure that 32bit Oracle_HOME/bin directory is in the windows environment variable PATH   (the system path and not user path) is ahead of 64bit Oracle client/server if it exists there.  Reboot the machine and retry again.

    HI,

I'm checking and the maybe you're right, because i asked to install Oracle Client 11g 32 bits and the they install Oracle Client 11g 64 bits.

    Also i found these article:

CA Service Desk Manager Known Configuration Issues - CA Service Management - 14.1 - CA Technologies Documentation

Right now i'm gonna unistall Oracle Client 11gb 64 bits, unistall CA Service Management, then install again both products. Are you agree?

One question, on database server, is requirement to have Oracle Client? Just need Oracle Server right?

    Thanks,

    Alex

32 bit client is only needed on SDM server.

It is not a requirement On the oracle server node.
