    Hello Everyone,

     

    In SDM R12.9 Advance Availability setup,  to find out the server type and its host name, perform the following steps:

     

    - Login to SDM page as an Administrator.

     

    - Click on Administration tab.

     

    - Expand System and click on Servers.

     

    - In the Server List page, all the available server types and its host name would be listed as shown in the below example:

    Alternatively, you may query usp_servers and server_types tables to find this information. For example, to find the background server's host name, run the SQL below query:

    Thank you for sharing this tip Naveen. This will be really helpful when a failover is triggered. This made me think about other possible ways that could also help..

    One other way in which this requirement could come up, is when you are on the server and you want to quickly check something via a command-line. Good old pdM_status still works. Background server would show many more daemons (ex: singleton daemons) than standby.

    Another option that might also help is the health check servlet that is offered in 12.9.
