  • 1.  CA Introscope 10.5.2.15 and Wildfly 20

    Good Afternoon,

Firstly please forgive me if I don't appear to know what I'm talking about - I probably don't! I have been asked to research an issue with CA APM/Introscope because I have prior experience with other CA products and have a Broadcom communities account, so I'm flying rather blind here.

My company has an APM 10.5.2.15 implementation which is currently housed at a 3rd party location and needs to be brought in house. We're being told that the current APM version we have installed supports Wildfly up to v15, but the company supports only Wildfly v20+ in the datacenter, so I'm looking for advice on how we need to proceed. Any information will be gratefully received.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hello Steve

1st of all APM 10.5.x is already EOS . So You have to upgrade to supported version

Check below APM life cycle dates

Hi Olympia, could you perhaps shed some light on why Wildfly v11 is the most recent version supported even though it is already 4 years old, and v20, which is already more than a year old and already superseded by 5 more releases, is not supported? Is there a roadmap to support later versions?

    Thanks

The certification process tends to be long for certain products. With that aside, there should be no reason why the agent could not work. There is very little in the way of agent functionality from WildFly 11 & 20. It'll mostly be instrumentation of internal classes which may or may not appear.

We also can help customers "field certify" agent and application configurations such as this. Your bigger hurdle is upgrading your installation. We no longer support 10.5.x. Our supported customers running 10.7 can often ask for the use of our SaaS agents, which tend to have support for more recent frameworks and application servers. The SaaS agents can be configured to connect to your on-premise 10.7 installation, as long as your EMs have Service Pack 3 or higher applied.

Here is an example setup I did to test our agent against WildFly 18. I was using a 20.6 SaaS JBoss agent.
