  • 1.  Jboss agent got disconnected due to metric clamping

    We have two Jboss agent which got disconnected due to metric clamping, i have increased the historic clamp on EM servers, but Agents still are not connecting, any suggestions. We cannot restart our JBoss servers for agents to restart.

    As you may know, EM has live metric clamp setting - introscope.enterprisemanager.metrics.live.limit , is it ok?

    Also, EM has a limitation of number of Agents:


    introscope.enterprisemanager.agent.connection.limit

    introscope.enterprisemanager.disconnected.historical.agent.limit

     

    Have you seen any error messages in EM or Agent?

    We have below configured, none of them reaching max

    introscope.enterprisemanager.metrics.live.limit = 120000

     

     

    introscope.enterprisemanager.agent.connection.limit = 400

    introscope.enterprisemanager.disconnected.historical.agent.limit = 400

     

    In Agent logs I noticed messages like

     

    [IntroscopeAgent.WilyTransactionStructure] Transaction trace component limit of 5000 reached, recording of any new components will cease for this transaction.

     

    [IntroscopeAgent.Agent] Waited 600000 ms But did not receive the response for the message com.wily.isengard.messageprimitives.service.MessageServiceCallMessage: {com.wily.isengard.registry.IRegistryService.deleteEntry, v1, [/service/com.wily.introscope.spec.agent.beans.dynamicinstrumentation.IAgentDynamicInstrumentationServiceWithCallbacks/xxxx|JBoss|xxxx-***]} from address Agent_557.main:264 to service address Server.main:1 from thread PO Route Down Executor -- We will not wait any longer

    Hi akshat,

    If the metric clamps not reached and if agents are waiting for a connection,it could be a different issue.

    Can you check your em logs for any information?Are collectors running with high CPU?
