    Posted Jun 18, 2019 09:05 AM

    Hi Team,

    @Jason_Wilcox  @Hallett_German @yanna
    We are running on 10.7.0.45 version of CA APM.
     1. Due to maintanence of linux servers our Collector server got rebooted.
     2. We have DB in Collector server.
     3. Since MOM is up while collector server got reboot. We faced the folowing issue in starting up collector"EM failed to start. org.rocksdb.RocksDBException: IO error: lock data/metadata/LOCK: Resource temporarily unavailable"
     4. By ref to this link, we have cleared the contents in metadata directory. We had back up before performing it.
     5. After performing the above solution we are not able to see past metrics.
    Kindly help us by providing a solution.

    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    You cannot just delete the metadata.
    To recover for now, remove all contents in your SmartStor location. The default is <em_home>/data.
    Restart your EM.

    Open a ticket to have support, and possibly engineering, look into the issue. When resolved, you will need to merge the two datasources together in order to get your current and your previous historical data.

    Not the cleanest solution, but the one with the least hassle and frustration.

    You mentioned that you have back up. If you have back of data directory before the collector server got rebooted, then you should able to restore the data directory and bring up the EM Collector. If EM still fails to start then data directory is corrupt, and you do need to open a support case to see if data directory can be repaired.
