Dashboards and Alerts Migration

Hello Everybody,


I have installed APM 10.5 and I will setup up a new server (bigger and better one) and will install APM 10.7.
I have several alerts and a few dashboards that I need to migrate from one server to another.
How do I migrate alerts and dashboards from the old server to the new one ?

Is there a way to do so or I need to rebuild one by one in the new server ?

You need to copy Management module from your 10.5.x APM_HOME/config/module folder to 10.7 APM_HOME/config/module folder or APM_HOME/deploy folder. 
All your dashboards , Alerts etc will be migrated by copying MMs. 
if you copy in module folder you have to restart MOM otherwise no need to restart when deploying in deploy folder.

I did what you said and restarted the EM and I could see the alarms and dashboards loaded in the new environment.

Hi Bruno,

On your 10.5 system, in the <IntroscopeInstallDir>/config/modules directory you will find the .jar files of your management modules.
Copy these ;jar files to your new 10.7 MOM into the directory <IntroscopeInstallDir>/deploy, and they will be become available.

Just for the record,

Follow best practices for dashboard creation, I do not know if the issue persist in APM 10.x, but when there are orphan alerts or links used between modules the migration process fails, so modules doesn´t load. It is a mess when other people creates modules with this errors an then someone assign you to migrate them (It was awfull XD).
