  • 1.  question regarding visual studio and .NET framework

    Hi,

    We just recently got a question about the future for CA Plex. 

    These people are using Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2013 (version 12.0.40629.00 update 5)
    and Microsoft .NET Framework (version 4.7.02556).

    The question was, if Broadcom are planning move to newer versions of Visual Studio and .NET Framwork?

    My question would be if Broadcom will move to .NET core instead.  That is supposed to be the 'future' of .NET, and that is more cross platform, possibly opening up using .NET programs on a linux server.

    Hi Ragnar,

    We have Visual Studio upgrade in our product backlog but not yet planned.
    And Visual Studio 2013 has extended support till 9/4/2024 - https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/lifecycle/search?alpha=Visual%20Studio%202013%20Update%205.

    Regarding .Net Framework upgrade, we have to do the feasibility analysis towards supporting latest version.

    We will let you know more details on this, once this development starts.
