    Hi Team,

I'm proposing a distributed architecture implementation for SV 10.5 to a client and need to get some recommendations on the system requirements for the same. As I could only see minimum system requirements on the docops portal, can you please assist me with below requirement:

Model we are trying to achieve

    Server 1
    1) Windows based Server 2012 R2
    2) Components to install - IAM, Enterprise Dashboard, Registry, Portal, 1 Coordinator Server, 1 Simulator Server
    3) Need information:
             RAM required?
             CPU required?
             Hard Disk required?

    Server 2
    1) Windows based Server 2012 R2
    2) Components to install - Virtual Service Catalog and four VSEs (mixed set of VSEs some for performance test support and some for only functional)
    3) Need information:
             RAM required?
             CPU required?
             Hard Disk required?
If we run multiple VSEs in the same machine and deploy same service in 2 VSEs with same port and same basepath, will it get deployed? and if yes, how will it work? requests will go to which VSE?
If we want to increase number of VSEs, what should be the additional hardware required considering new VSE needs to support good performance models

    Server 3
    1) Dedicated server for a remote DB - 1 instance only
    2) What are the roles, users and schema are required?
    3) Free space in Hard Disk required?

Please let me know if you need further information on the above ask.

    Hi,

Just one aspect, regarding : If we run multiple VSEs in the same machine and deploy same service in 2 VSEs with same port and same basepath, will it get deployed?

No, will not work. Port conflict on OS level, 2 different OS processes where the second one tries to open a port that is already in use.

    Cheers,

    Danny

    Hi Robin,

You have to consider using a load balancer before the VSEs to have optimal performance. In this scenario, you will have similar set of services running on all 4 VSEs and load balancer is configured as host name at consumer end. The loadbalancer will receive the request and route it accordingly (based on the algo configured).

    Thanks.
