  • 1.  Selenium integration using Selenium IDE

    Posted Mar 20, 2019 01:22 AM

    Hi All,

I'm trying to integrate Selenium with DevTest using Selenium IDE as Selenium builder has been removed by the developers now.

I'm recording the scripts using Selenium IDE and converting into JSON saving it in ".tst" format but still DevTest is throwing a error as "could not parse scripts".

Can anyone please help me in integrating Selenium IDE with DevTest with detailed steps.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

    Here is Release Automation Community.

It seems this question is related to DevTest, so I will move this thread to DevTest Community.

    Hi Shiney, this is Julio.

I´m watching this post and i have the doubt if the lastest Selenium ID is still compatible for integration with DevTest Application Test.

Appear that with this plugging is not posible to export in JSON format to import in DevTest.

    Hi Julio,

As per10.6 version, browser support for recording  Selenium Integration tests is for Mozilla Firefox 42 to 47.
DevTest uses Selenium Library 2.53.0, which might not be fully compatible with the latest driver. You have to use a driver version that is compatible with Selenium API 2.53.0.

    Thanks

Hi Vaibhav, thanks for you response.

So the SelenionIDE for firefox is not compatible and we need to find Selenium Builder 2.3.5 like appear in the doc for DevTest 10.6.

    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/devops/devtest-solutions/10-6/reference/test-step-descriptions/selenium-integration-steps/create-and-export-a-selenium-builder-recording.html

In this case the actions to take is just find Selenium Builder 2.3.5 version and a Firefox 42 to install the Builder? There is any additional to update for DevTest libraries?

Please note - Selenium support for SV/DevTest has been discontinued as of 10.6 with the final support ending in Jan 2021. The Release Notes has info on it.
