Unable to record Web Application

  • 1.  Unable to record Web Application

    Posted Aug 30, 2018 03:26 AM

    Hi Team,

I am using DevTest 10.01 and trying to record the WEB UI using Web Recorder (HTTP Proxy). As my application only open in chrome browser so check the  "Use External Browser"  in Test Recorder and performed the recording exercise. Even after adding the proxy none of the transactions are getting recorded.

I am able to record some other web app performing the exercise on DevTest default browser but facing problem with external browser recording exercise.

Your inputs would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

What version of DevTest are you facing this problem?  Does the internal browser work for the same website?  Please share the  proxy logs in lisatmpX folder.

After the DevTest recorder process has started - did you change the proxy settings of chrome to point to stpproxy.xxxxxxxx.com:4001 before making any calls?

If you are still not seeing any traffic in the DevTest recorder - is it possible to install Fiddler  & try to log the traffic?

    Hi,

I am trying to record transactions from a web application using Web Recorder(HTTP Proxy) and using DevTest 10.1.
I am not sure what proxy details to use or configure before starting the recording.
When clicking Start Recording and checking use external browser, I have set the chrome browser to 127.0.0.1 and 8010 as suggested by DevTest.
However the transactions are not recording.
I also don't get any Proxy logs in lisatmp_10.1.0 folder

Can someone help, I am really stuck on this?

    Hi RajN,

For web recorder, you have to point to the real url i.e. http://hostIP:port/path

You can refer to below link for more details:
