Flexibility to customize log file output

Has anyone tried modifying the log properties of Test Data Manager to have the log files created in one base log folder vs having logs created folder by folder based on job id? We have a monitoring tool that is finding it difficult to assimilate individual folder based log files.

Hi,

   The TDM Portal logs are written to this location C:\ProgramData\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\logs and you can manage the size of the log file and number of archive copies using this configuration file C:\Program Files\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\conf\logback-tdm.xml.  

    The job output folder creates a separate folder for each job so the job output files can be easily managed.  C:\ProgramData\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\Jobs

   What are you trying to monitor with your monitoring tool?

I am trying to see if there is a way to turn off folder creation for each job log. If there is an option to just have the job log as a file in C:\ProgramData\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\logs vs C:\ProgramData\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\logs\JobYYYY

Splunk prefers to look at one base folder for log files and is becoming cumbersome to account for new folders being created for each job.

Hi,

    I dont believe there is a way yo turn off the job folder structure, this would need to be raised as an enhancement request.  The job details are written to the TDMPublish.log and TDMJobengine.log and the logs will contain details on jobs starting / ending and failing. would these logs contain the data you need for the splunk monitoring?
