  • 1.  Inquiry on Performance

    Hi,

For One Application, we have 7 Exadata Oracle databases which are residing on Linux. The size of DB's is around 5TB. Currently we are obfuscating the database from Windows and it takes around 25 hours for obfuscating 7 databases.

We are planning to shift the scripts on Linux machine and execute the scripts on Linux. Will there be any benefit on time perspective?

    Please share your thoughts.

    Thanks,
    Ashish Jaiswal

    Hi Ashish,

You have multiple ways to improve performance for masking large quantities of data
    (1)  If you are on TDM 4.8.1 or later, and you have CPU/memory available, either on the TDM Portal server or Docker on a 2nd server, consider using the Scaled Masking capabilities to parallelize the masking
    (2)  Or - move the masking to the Linux machine - that will eliminate network delays in the process

For more information about the capabilities & configuration of Scaled Masking, please see the
