We need to change the password for the vTDM share partition to make it more secure. How can this be achieved?

    Hi,

You can change the vTDM appliance settings by editing this file on the appliance - /usr/local/etc/default/vtdm  and then restarting the appliance.

    Hi Keith,
I tried that but when I restart the VM it takes it from the default setting in vSphere Config. The problem is we do not have access the vSphere config and any change would require change management as due to lockdown we are in freeze. So I had update the overwrite shell script common.sh in the vtdm directory to ignore the vSphere config change and then it work perfectly.

Is there another way to ignore the change from vSphere config?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The vSphere settings will over write the default values when the appliance is restarted so if you cant edit the vSphere settings you will need to manually edit the file after a restart.

Thanks Keith. I tried editing that after the restart but the changes don't take effect. Do I need to restart the vtdm service also after making the changes?
