Tech Tip: Teradata Driver Error When Connecting to Subset

Issue:

I am receiving the following error message when trying to connect to GT Subset with a Teradata database profile connection:

 

Connection Error
com.teradata.jdbc.TeraDriver

 

 

 

We are able to connect through Datamaker and access the Teradata database on its own.

Environment:

CA Test Data Manager (TDM)- GT Subset & Teradata Database

Cause:

The reason you are seeing this error message is because the Teradata jar files are not in the correct location. 

 

Here are some other notes using a Teradata database with TDM:

• If you are connecting to a Teradata database, enter the Host Name and Default Schema (Database Name).

• If you create a Teradata connection profile in CA TDM Portal, and you publish from Datamaker using this connection profile (the Enterprise or Remote Enterprise
  publish option), then only the Teradata ODBC driver 15.00.00.00 is supported.

Resolution:

To use Subset with a Teradata database connection, you will need to copy your terajdbc4.jar and tdgssconfig.jar files into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Grid-Tools\GTDatamaker\lib folder.
