    Hi Experts,

We have an export of an application taken on RA 5.52 in the form of a zip file.

When we try to import the application into RA 6.2 via ROC and its giving the below exceptions:

    2016-08-10 11:38:24,714 [http-nio-8080-exec-3] ERROR (com.nolio.releasecenter.designer.services.DesignerExportImportService:590) - error parsing file

java.io.InvalidClassException: com.nolio.platform.server.dataservices.api.model.exportimport.model.exportdata.ExportedArchitectureItemWrapper; local class incompatible: stream classdesc serialVersionUID = -7526857417139603605, local class serialVersionUID = 7838057281339527344

    2016-08-10 11:38:24,715 [http-nio-8080-exec-3] ERROR (com.nolio.releasecenter.designer.services.DesignerExportImportService:216) - Cannot close object stream

java.io.IOException: invalid CRC for file: apps/245612.dat

The Import GUI gives message as " You do not have permissions to import any of the entities" however the user is present in RA with access as superuser.

Am I doing anything wrong ?

    Hi,

The error is misleading it is not caused by permissions its actually because the import is not a 6.2 export. When importing into Release Automation 6.2 you need to have an export from a 6.2 system we no longer support imports from older versions if Release automation. Hope this helps

    Thanks Keith.

To confirm I understood right, when we upgrade, all the existing apps in older version get migrated to latest version but if we do an export then import of the apps it wont work.

    Is this correct ?

    Hi,

Yes that's correct, to import these applications you will need to upgrade the 5.5.2 system and then take an export.
