  • 1.  xmcd - for what features is it needed and on which servers?

    Hi everyone,

took me a while to find this place again, thanks Saurabh for pointing me in the right direction :-)

I opened a case the other day as we faced an issue with xcmd after the company changed their anti virus/malware program.

Support pointed me towards this KB: https://ca-broadcom.wolkenservicedesk.com//external/article?articleId=56557

But couldn't really answer my question regarding what features xmcd is actually needed for.
And if we add an exception if it's required on all servers (including agents) or only the execution and management server

if it's relevant, case iD: 20009578 (btw. I prefered the old system...)

    regards
    michael

    Hi Michael,

I'm sure that the process is used during the agent upgrade process. Or it was last time I checked (quite some time ago). I am not sure if it was specifically copied to agent machines or it was just something that the management machine ran against Windows servers. If I find more information I'll be sure to share.

    Kind regards,
    Gregg
