We are experiencing slowness issue with Clarity PPM 15.x over the VPN, Over VPN our users when they connect from home they get a blank page of clarity and when checked in developer tools mode form the browser we see the following.

    1) Get request stuck at hook.js and we see the error " SCRIPT5022: Load timeout for modules: uif/js/clarity_main_min https://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#timeout

    2) We have explored and eliminated all network related causes and want to see if the following is the root cause for this.
To avoid the error:Be sure to load all scripts that call define() via the RequireJS API. Do not manually code script tags in HTML to load scripts that have define() calls in them.

You mentioned within VPN a page  hook.js  is getting blocked and does the user face this blockage outside VPN? Does the network traffic to access the clarity via vpn and outside vpn is same or other like you might have some proxy etc

Thanks a lot for the reply Suman.

No outside VPN hoo.js and other .js files get downloaded pretty fast and page loads successfully. It is only on VPN when the page is blank we see in developer tools > that GET request is stuck on hook.js

We have our requests load balanced through F5 but we have tried bypassing F5 and still the same results.

    Hi Tej

I have seen this issue with slow internet connection where loading the page hook.js gets time out and in the browser console you will see an error. Can you check the connection speed within the VPN and out side the VPN. I dont think this has anything to do with your load balancer.

Thanks for the help once again.

Do you mean the internet connection of the user connecting from home?

It is strange because we have other corporate apps that work fine on VPN , for example our sharepoint site is quite heavy and loads fine.

Its just the clarity site that when called it gets stuck sometimes on the white page and console shows hook.js timedout

    Hello @Tej Singh

Did you finally resolve this issue when the CLARITY page loading gets stuck forever at the hook.js file with this load timeout on uif/js/clarity_main_min ?  If yes, can you please let us know what fix you have done for this issue.

We are also facing the exact same issue, although intermittently. Please see the error message and screenshots below. This is after a very recent Clarity version upgrade we did to v15.8.1 almost two weeks back.

ext.min.js:1 Uncaught Error: Load timeout for modules: uif/js/clarity_main_min
    http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#timeout
    at makeError (ext.min.js:1)
    at checkLoaded (ext.min.js:1)
    at ext.min.js:1

    Load Timeout Error
    Network Tab from Developer Tools

    Thank you in advance,
    Georgy

    Hi Georgy,

Our network team made some changes with the MTU settings for the VPN and post which it was resolved.
