We have just recently upgraded our (SaaS) Non-Prod environment to Clarity 15.7.1 and I am having an issue with showing and editing Task Dependencies.

I have cleared my browser history and temporary files since upgrading our Dev instance.

After opening the Timeline View of a Project's Task Module, then selecting the 'Show Dependencies' checkbox of the View Options panel, the checkbox selection de-selects itself and the depencies do not show and therefore cannot be edited.

Being the New UX, I have focused on using Chrome (Windows and Mac/OS), Firefox, Opera and Safari (Mac/OS) - all with the same result.

I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this issue.

    Thanks,
    Will

    Hi Will,

I am able to toggle the "Show Dependencies" check-box in my sample environment.  I suggest playing around with the "Periods" setting and the "Color By" setting and trying it again.  In my view, I have Periods set to Quarters and Color By set to Status.  Once the "Show Dependencies" check-box is enabled, I am able to set the dependencies.

Let me know if you want to try troubleshooting together.

    Hi Ming,

I fiddled around with the Period and Colour settings but I haven't been able to convince the 'Dependencies' checkbox to stay checked. Yes, I wouldn't mind working through this.

    Thanks,
    Will

    Hi Will,

Did you get this this to work? and if so, how? I'm having the exact same issue and would appreciate your knowledge.

    Thanks,
    Pia

Seeing same issue on our 15.8.1 customer on-premise installation.  Perhaps this feature is not yet realized?

I missed the version in the headline, we are on SaaS 15.8.1.

I have found this knowledge article with Broadcom

After I deleted our default views, I can now check dependencies.

    Thanks for the update Pia.

I cannot explain how I managed to have the 'Dependecies' flag to remain on in 15.7.1 - just a series of clicks/screen refreshes and managed to shake the problem loose.

Since our upgrade/GCP migration, I have been working through the creation of standardized Views, including the designating of some of these as 'Default'. I worked through most of the other Project modules and was only beginning to approach the Tasks module. I originally discovered this problem in 15.7.1, so I'm hopeful that things will go well with the ability to mark views as 'Default' in 15.8.1. I have noted some error messages being displayed when making use of saved Views that were created in 15.7.1, so perhaps deleting the Views will resolve both. Unfortunately, I found the same issue that another of our Comminity colleagues discovered - that switching Views while the Timeline or Board is displayed will switch the display to the Grid.

As an aside, we had the chance to travel to Denmark in the spring last year. It's a beautiful country. Sights ranged from Dragor to Helsingor and Fredensborg Slotsave, but mainly centered around Kopenhagen. No, we didn't stay long enough to take in Copenhell :).
