Create action to return a project

Hello guys


How can i perform this task?
Create action to return a project that was mistakenly canceled to the state prior to cancellation.

I'm new to application administration and I'm not even sure where to start ....

If you open the project properties and click  the Status dropdown  you see the options.
Resumed might take you back where you were.

Talking to the person in charge, he told me that I would have to create a process for such action to return a project that was mistakenly canceled to the state prior to cancellation. According to this feature is a custom.

You make it sound that is is not just setting the Status to Cancelled. Is it?
Please detail how a project is cancelled - preferably with screenshots.
Why would you need a process (and cannot do it manually as I suggested)?

On the other hand if you are talking about deleting projects and setting the Purge Flag on (Eliminar indicadores) and then running the Delete Investments job (Excluir investimentos e períodos de relatório de horas) it is different.

If you have just set the flag then you can reset that back to not selected.
If you have run the job then you are out of luck. The job deletes the project marked for deletion from the database and it cannot be recovered.
You would have to use a back up of the system and then you could restore the project to the state it is in the back up (if you have one)
Open a case with support to see if they have any tricks.

This case is when the user unintentionally changes the project to canceled and saved status, the question is whether we can change creating a process
so that we can return this to the status in attendance.

So how do you determine which of the canceled projects is not supposed to be canceled and needs to be returned?

when the user himself makes this cancel action if he wants to.

I am not quite sure I understand the need for a process, but if you want to know how to create the basic process for that here goes
In Administration - Processes create new

Set primary object

Start option ON demand

Just create Return step

Next to Step details

Create action of type System action

Action is Set Status to Returned

WARNING The Status returned is available only when the project status is Cancelled. If it is not this basic process will error out asking for a valid status value.
A better process would be to put a check step and if the status is not Cancelled then go directly to Finish.
When the action is created set Then Go To  Finish

Then Set Then Go To from Start step to the Return step

Check the process flo

Validate and Activate all steps

In a cancelled project only

In Available  Processes tab you see this process active and validated. Select it and Start

Wait and see.
Establish a policy how to delete initiated and errored process instances.

@Deactivated User​, So ... I can also tell you if it would be a process to resume a project that was canceled by enagano or if it is some action.
But I have no idea how to do this activity.
As I reported, I am new to PPM, and with no experience.

Sorry to say you have lost me.
First I suggested that it should be done as a manual action in the GUI.
When you said it would have to be a process I detailed how to create a process to do that.
Now it sounds that neither of those is acceptable. Please advice.

I've done and redone the process a few times and I can't get to the same model you gave me.
Nor do I see the process created in the project.

Could you please let me know where I am going wrong.

If it is validated and active and you do not see it for the projects check that it has the primary object defined and that the start option is on demand .

Object was not created, I created or activated, but do not continue to see the processes.

That is not what I was trying to say. Do not create a new object.
Associate this process with the project object as the primary object.
After you have created the process go to Object tab

then continue as below

I got it, it was the process engine that was stalled.
However when running, specifically the project that was canceled, did not return service and the fields have not been changed either .... remains as canceled and unauthorized.

The diamond is green and there is no message flag which indicate that the process ran and there were no errors,

Firstly I assume you can do the change manually - just checking
Then I would have a look at the action which changes the status.

The process is not validated and active and therefore not available/visible for the project
The status Icon says Revalidacao obrigatoria
Check those and revalidate and activate

Is that the same for the project and the user. If not make it the same of try with another project and user that are in the same partition.

But the process is active, but I can't see it.

I don't know where I'm going wrong.

Now the process is in the System partition and Somente particao which I take to mean partition only.
What is the partition of the project? If it is not in the system partition you will not see the process.
That is the only thing I can think of.

@Deactivated User, I see, I changed the partition for a test, but I still don't see the process where I should see it.
I don't know where I could have gone wrong. I've done it several times.
I think I'll skip this item I have to do ....​

@Deactivated User, I could see the process and even worked. I ask, now i am in a canceled project, would it automatically have to exit canceled status and return to service? Or would I have to do some other procedure?

I do not know.
Apparently it depends on the value of the progress attribute before it was cancelled, the value of the attribute after it was returned and the value of the progress attribute you want.

If the progress is not what you want then you might need to modify you process to set also that as needed.
Try and see how it goes.

In my case, I have to use the numeric value 5.
So that is not explained where you make this change.

@Legacy User, I have a problem that I can't return a project that was canceled by mistake and, according to recommendations, I read the documents, but I didn't get any technical information I could set up.

There is more than one project field which you can set to cancelled. Eg. Status and Work Status
The values available for these depend on the values of other fields and that is what Dale's post tries to explain.
Likewise setting a value may change values in other fields.

Which field  is it you have set?

The example process I sent to you was for the Status field.

However or project selected, do not return to the allowed status.

Something is wrong and from remote difficult to say what .
Set the notifications on to see if the step and action is actually performed.

 @Deactivated User, I redid the configuration again, and I noticed that by initializing the process on any canceled project, the system is alerting me that the comment field is required. I noticed this message and some projects I did the test.
And others that have canceled status without initializing process and without testing are without any change.

Is that comment field a field of the Project object.
If so sounds that is has been added there some time ago and made required.
Some older project that are cancelled do not have a value for that and therefore cannot be saved when the process runs.
Could that be it?

Well I do not know, but what to do in this case.
I've done and redid all the settings, and see no other way to do this activity.
